![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have a very thin Verbatim 16GB that is problematic with Windows machines - I try to loan movies to friends and they can't read it - so perhaps that's the problem. Meanwhile, attempts to create a bootable flash drive have been to no avail. I gave it time: after walking the dog for an hour, it was still just the blinking cursor. I downloaded Mint again using the torrent from the site, burned again to DVD, and still got only the blinking cursor. Then, however, after building up to the latest (El Capitan after installing Lion, the last OS version that fits on a DVD), booting Linux Mint from the DVD (Mac: hold down "C") resulted in the blinking cursor after a bunch of CD whinging. Fixed now, and alas, always good to test one's backup strategy (I chose to replace an existing Ubuntu installation it identified on the Mac Mini, which I believe might have been there at one point, and it wiped out OSX and took over the machine. I created a boot DVD with which I was able to install Mint 17.3 on a HP mini, and my Mac Mini, both with external Samsung drive. ![]()
